2024 National District Cross Country Format
DATE: Wednesday, October 30th , 2024
LOCATION: Burke Lake Park 2.98 mile course (Grass, Trails and Road)
TIMES: Boys 12:30pm Girls 11:30am

PARTICIPANTS: Each team may enter up to 10 athletes per gender per race. The final score will be determined by the top 5 scorers, 6-7 do not count toward the team score, but can displace other teams. 8-10 do not count towards the team score and will not displace other teams runners.
RULES: The rules found in the VHSL Handbook.
ENTRY FORMS: Entries MUST be done electronically on Milestat no later than Friday, October 18th at 3:30pm. Mike Kiernan will set up the event in Milestat for the National District.
SPECIFICS: There are no locker rooms available. Bathrooms are available at the Marina and ice-cream store. Tents may only be erected in the designated areas. Teams MUST clean up their area of all trash upon completion of the race.
NUMBERS: All participants will wear numbers on the front of their singlet. The numbers,
pins, chips and other official materials will be distributed to coaches at the
scorer's table at 10:30am during the coaches meeting.

INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONS:1-8 will each receive National District medals.
TEAM CHAMPION: The team champion will receive a District Championship plaque.
REGIONS: Nov. 6th, 2024. Boys 12:45 / Girls 12:00. Awards - 1:30pm. Top 6 teams of the National district will qualify for the Region Championship. In addition to team qualifiers, anyone who places in the top 15 in the National district championship race will also qualify for the Occoquan Region Championship.Each Occoquan Region school will enter 10 members into each race in the regional tournament. Seven out of the ten entries will be considered race participants with three alternates. Only those team members entered on Milestat.com and VHSL entry form will be eligible for varsity regional tournament competition. Each competing school must submit to the tournament director a roster on VHSL Entry form by Sunday, November 3rd, 2024.
